It's almost the weekend—now it's time to celebrate!
Although it's a bit early for Christmas, I have a copy of the wonderful The Weekend by Charlotte Wood to give away.
It's a book about friendship and women— of how we address ageism, mortality and the changes experienced throughout our lives. It's a stark and poignant emotional rollercoaster that provides a window—at times a little too close— into the lives of three friends. Wood cleverly draws us deep into the women's past and present life experiences. We view the dynamics shift within the group and the various ways they cope as they suffer the loss of their dear friend.
